Being made in the likeness of God means we are a 3-part being (body, soul and spirit). God is a 3-part being (Father, Word and Holy Ghost).

1 John 5 let's us know that the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost bear record that Jesus is the Christ. He came by water and blood. Water through baptism, blood through being born of a woman.

Matthew 28:19 says Father, Son and Holy Ghost, because, as the Gospel of John says, Jesus is the Word.

We must be submerged in God, clothed with God, the father (Old Testament), the Son (Gospels), and the Holy Ghost (New Testament). God is the same, but he uses different methods. He started off working as the Father, then he came and as the Son and worked as the Word, now he's working as the Holy Ghost until he comes back to reign with his people on earth.

1 John also says that there are three that bear witness on earth that Jesus is the Christ: the water, which was at his baptism, the blood, which was at his death and the spirit, which was prophesied to Mary by Gabriel. Because God never changed, but he is in eternity, he spoke everything at the same time and everything started to unfold and is continuing to unfold: the Father, Son and Holy Ghost; God declares the end from the beginning. Revelation 21:22&23 reveals what Jesus was talking about in John 14

John 14:23, 1 John 5:7...Jesus said the father and he would make their abode in us, this is speaking of God as the temple and Christ as the high priest or in otherwards, God in us and us in God. Us being in the glory of God and the glory of God being in us, not just his Word, but also his Spirit.

in our (Genesis 5:1…God dwells within himself)

Acts 17:28 & 29…we are the offspring of God

James 3:9…this shows us what Genesis 1 meant when it said likeness, it was referring to the similitude of God, but Jesus was made so much better, he was the exact image of God, the invisible God, he was the character of God in his fullness and we were made in the image of Christ

In the image of God:

Ephesians 2:10…this let’s us know that the original humans were created in the image of Christ, but because of the fall, we took on the image of Satan. This is why Ephesians 4:24 says we must put on the new man, which is the redeemed image of man or humans. God knows everything, so as Colossians 1:15&26 says, we were created in his image, meaning flesh.

When the Bible says that Jesus is the last Adam or human (because Adam means human), it's not talking about numerical value. It's expressing that Jesus is the archetype of every human, meaning that he is the original form that humans were created after. Humans were created based off his image. Jesus isn't the prototype, but the archetype, he's the original image of humans. This is why we are redeemed by him, because he is who we're supposed be like.
