When we are fighting against sin and we fail, that means our faith wasn't strong enough. This is why the word says not to get weary in well-doing. You must constantly resist the Devil and not faint in the war. To not faint when you are presently resisting, you have to have been meditating on the scriptures that you use to fight with during the present temptation when you aren't experiencing temptation. The word says to seek him in the calm, because in a storm you won't be able to hear him. In a storm, all you have is the word you've been meditating on when there was no storm. The reason you meditate on those scriptures when you're not going through the storm is because when you're not going through, you can think about why the scripture says that and release all your objections and submit to it. When the storm comes, you're not going to be able to do all that thinking, you have to already know, so when the temptation comes, all you have to do is speak the scripture to the Devil. When we speak the scripture to the Devil, that's rebuking him. Rebuking isn't saying "I rebuke you", but rebuking is saying "name of temptation" get behind me, because the word says "insert scripture or scriptures"
