Genesis 8:22, seedtime and harvest
Exodus 34:21, in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest
Deuteronomy 21:4, eared nor sown
1 Samuel 8:12, ear his ground, and reap his harvest
Isaiah 30:24, that ear the ground
To ear means to plough. Seedtime is the season of sowing. It is the period of original development. Seedtime is a process by itself. It involves plowing, preparing soil, sowing seed and watching for weeds. In seedtime, the seed takes root and grows. There's a lot of work to be done in seedtime. In Genesis 8:22 the metaphor of seedtime and harvest just means Spring and Fall. God was speaking in extreme opposites, letting Noah know that no matter how bad things get, things will eventually get better.
