Overcoming Iniquity

Addiction is a type of sin, the biblical term for addiction is iniquity. God is patient with us and shows us loving kindness and mercy because he knows it takes time to overcome iniquity. Doctrine is what gives us a sound mind and gives us the grace to overcome iniquity. This is the job of the teacher, to feed us truth, so that the grace of God will be able to grow in us and transform us into a morally sound person.

The teacher feeding the saints doctrine helps the saints learn truth from error and Jesus said that the truth will set us free and make us free. When we have the truth and believe it God's grace uses that truth to help transform us into Holy or rather moral.
