Understanding Jesus Words on Mammon

 Luke 16:8  “children of this world in their generation”

This means, dealing with their own kind; then the children of light dealing with eternity

"4 key areas in which he could see indications of this fact

1. Ingenuity of contrivance (when sinful people set about to contrive a strategy, they tend to be far more ingenious in their methodology and in their application than does the average Christians getting together to devise a plan for reaching the world for Jesus Christ)

2. Perseverance

3. Use their resources (use what they have to get the outcome they want)

4. Thinking about the present and future instead of the past (short memories, don't dwell on the past, but looks ahead)

Use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourself, so when it's gone, they'll welcome you forever"~Apostle Joshua Selman

Everlasting dwellings: they will favor you for the rest of your life

Gains the whole world but loses his soul: gaining wealth through corruption

Unrighteous mammon: worldly goods

To face in the direction of Christ, to keep him in sight regardless of what is happening; to keep trying to see things through his eyes

If we can't be faithful in worldly goods, why would God trust us with spiritual goods. If you can't manage someone else's stuff, who will give you something for yourself to manage (Luke 16:10-12)

You can't serve God and mammon means that you can't serve spiritual purposes and natural purposes. This doesn't have to do with money in a negative way. He's saying use money for spiritual purposes.

Be shroud as snakes and harmless as doves

The people of this world are more shroud in dealing with their own kind then are the people of the light (gaining advantages for themselves while remaining undeterred by their consciences or moral considerations)
