The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. (Genesis 49:10)...
If ye can break my covenant of day, and my covenant of the night, and there should not be day and night in their season; Then may also then my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers. (Jeremiah 33:20&21)...
when Jesus died the Sun didn't come up for 3 days. Jesus partially broke, but also fulfilled that covenant.
That's why Ephesians 2:14-16 says For he is our peace, who hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
Christ brought the office of king-priest back together, no longer separate, but through him we all can be kings and priests. Now the Holy Ghost is reigning until Jesus comes back, therefore people outside of Judah can reign as kings and people outside Levi can be priests. Jesus was already the rightful king being from the tribe of Judah, but John the Baptist was supposed to be the next priest in line, that's why when Jesus came to be baptized by John, he (John) said he needed to be baptized by Jesus, but Jesus told him that it needed to be done this way. John was from the tribe of Levi and the baptism was Jesus coronation as priest. That's why God said this is my beloved Son in whom I'm well pleased, hear ye him. God confirmed that Jesus was reinstating the Melchizedek order. Also, at Jesus's trial the priest forfeited his priesthood by denying Jesus therefore sealing the priesthood of Jesus, making him king-priest for all eternity.
So according to Revelation 21:23, the covenant that God made with David will finally come to an end, because there won't be night and day anymore, but God's glory will be the light. Jesus won't be from the tribe of Judah, but according to vs. 22, God will be all in all, God and the Lamb will be the temple, just like Jesus said in the Gospel: he in the father and the father in him. There is one God and he dwells in the circumference of himself. Just like all humanity came from within Adam, all creation came from within God.
