I Asked God For Patience

I heard a minister say "don't ask God for patience because then you're going to go through some tribulation", but I go through tribulation already, so I asked God for patience because even if I have to go through tribulation, I will know everything will be working for my good, because I prayed about it, so I'm in God's hands and he has the best intentions in mind for me.
