Do We Pay Tithes From Our Gross or Net

I was watching a YouTube video of Dave Ramsey. He talked about him paying his tithes. He said that he paid his tithes from his net income. I was surprised, because I always paid my tithes from my gross. The Bible doesn't distinguish whether we should pay tithes from our net income or gross income. I believe it's up to the individual whether they prefer the gross method or the net method. God showed me that the reason the Bible doesn't distinguish between net or gross is because in biblical days the tax system wasn't set up like it is today. Now I pay tithes based off my net income and God has still been blessing me to show he's still with me. Today the government takes a percentage from our gross, so we never see that money, so it's between you and God whether you want to pay based off gross or net. I can say from experience that God will bless you with both ways.
